ONE WAY TO THROW A 30TH BIRTHDAY EVENT….

30TH BIRTHDAY EVENT: A little post to share a few pics and show you how we helped make a super delicious and memorable birthday event for our clients’ joint 30th birthday celebrations.

CLIENT: Private

EVENT: Joint 30th birthday party

BRIEF: Produce an exclusive party with a suitably foodie offering (they had considered DDC previously) for dinner and then potentially to go late on into the night, preferably at a location unknown to the majority of the group.

GUESTS: 40 for dinner and an additional 40 for drinks after the dinner – total 80+ guests

WHAT WE DID: Suggested 4 event concepts, suitable venues, catering options, menu curation, entertainment solutions, styling, unique bespoke touches to create an individual feel – tailored to the clients and their group. We also helped execute the event on site.

CHOSEN CONCEPT: Indoor Garden Party (Our April weather can’t be trusted!).

The winning space for the event was an existing bar, opened late 2012, that was just about to be redecorated (in time for the event date) with ‘English Country Garden’ illustrations on the walls, in Dalston. Perfect!

THE FIRST SEATING FOR DINNER

CATERING: Perfectly timed – the venue was hosting a pop-up caterer in the their kitchen, who specialise in fresh foraged food from the British countryside and coast. This catering concept fitted beautifully with the indoor garden/ countryside theme for the event. The menu included amazingly tasty game meats such as; Wood Pigeon and Partridge, along with Bavette, Line caught Salmon and Cured Salmon with Horseradish.

We styled the tables with flora and fauna to create that real country feel, packed the venue full of fresh-cut flowers and warm glowing candles, alongside the venue’s already stunning table decorations.

MENU: We worked with the kitchen and the bar at the venue, assisting the client with the curation of the perfect food and drink selection. We also asked for personalised menus and drinks to be printed for the event.

We suggested  that the dinner was spilt into two sittings – one earlier (before the main party) for the hosts and their close family, so they had plenty of time  to enjoy eating their amazing menu with guests that might not stay the whole evening. Then later, a less formal serving – buffet feast style for the main party goers.

ENTERTAINMENT: We suggested some good friends of ours – the very fabulous Loose Cannons – We know first hand that these guys are excellent party DJ’s and have worked with them all over the world for the last 8 years.

STYLING: Along with the beautiful table displays, floral and candle arrangements, we created a ‘Birthday Wish Washing Line’. Guests could write personalised messages on handmade paper and hang them up on the washing line – later these notes can be added to a scrap book with the photos of the party as a keep sake.

ADDITIONAL: We suggested a photographer, so the evening could be recorded and documented – just incase things got a little hazy!

We were very lucky to work with really wonderful clients and their guests were a delight. More like this please! x

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL: ‘Thanks for everything, really had a great time and have gotten excellent feedback from everyone that came…..been recommending you to everyone’.
