Cake, a pleasure that comes in a variety of forms: big ones, small ones, sugar rich or made with honey, on sticks, in jars, fruity, chocolatey, the possibilities are endless…
Our recent slice of heavenly baked goodness was at Aubrey’s in Kensal Rise. We walked in at just the right time to a get the first slice of a home-baked chocolate cheesecake, fresh out the oven. And not being able to pick just one of the other treats in the window– we also ordered the poppy seed cake with passion fruit icing. Yes, it was as good as it sounds.
We found the team at Aubrey’s refreshingly friendly; they were greeting customers respectfully by their surnames and proffering up genuine smiles and hospitality.
Entertaining: Cake – It provides the perfect excuse to meet up, it offers the ideal invite. Cake can surely only be improved with a comforting tea, cheeky champagne or with some quality company. We invite everyone from our mothers, brothers, clients and friends to join us over a slither or two.
You can eat cake with almost anyone, share it, gift it, or even make it. It’s a reasonably barginous treat that come in so many flavours, sweetnesses and textures, there is normally some form of cake out there to please everyone.
Aubrey’s is a ‘sweet’ local café offering a wide selection of teas, coffees and homemade cakes from Chef Aubrey Thomson (experienced catering and professional chef). They offer a bespoke cake making service – we spied some being boxed up in the back. We can’t seem to find too much about the cafe online apart from their Facebook page.
Pop in to satisfy your next sugar fix and fill your cake hole!
Open: Mon – Fri: 08:00 – 18:00 / Sat: 09:00 – 18:00
