Mother, AKA – The Original Hostess with the Most(ess)!
Mothers and their expectations come in all shapes and sizes. Here is our selection of ideas for a little Mother’s Day indulging. One day to give back a little ingest-able delight, to say thanks for all the years of hospitality (and so much more)!
Here are our 5 suggestions for Mother’s Day 2014 entertaining in and around London:
For the ‘Nurturing Mummy’, try Petersham Nurseries. Take time to stop and smell the roses, relax over some incredible seasonal dishes in the cafe or cake in the teahouse, then potter about the garden centre and rather expensive shop where you will want to buy almost everything.
For the ‘Designer Mum’, try Bob Bob Ricard. The David Collins designed interiors never fail to induce sounds of delight. That joy only continues as the all-day dining delivers luxury comfort food from morning till night, plus the button the says ‘Press for Champagne’ is always a guest pleaser.
For the ‘Arty Mom’ try Sketch. This establishment has been and continues to be a place to impress with its art filled and immersive spaces. Sketch has a special afternoon tea for two, including a gift-wrapped Diptyque Rose Bougie Parfumée for £80, or £100 with a glass of Champagne.
For the ‘Traditional Matriarch’ try The Criterion. A decadent way to delight the mother. Slick service, grand ball room style restaurant space and they will have live music from 1pm till 3pm. Set menus from £30-35.
For the ‘ Vintage Mother’, try Brunswick House Café. This house in the middle of the high-rises along the Vauxhall riverside delivers a unique dining experience. The menus are simple, current and delicious and the décor is purchasable salvaged gems. Excellent for a leisurely Sunday lunch and rummage.
Not forgetting, there is always the option of hosting at home or booking a bespoke edible experience. If you would like one of our team to create a bespoke experience, organise a chef or to book you the perfect restaurant for this or another occasion … just ask. We can also assist with gifting.
