London’s Best New Openings 2016

Calling all you gastronauts and gastronomic galavanters! The foodie scene this summer is set have some of the best new restaurant openings and pop ups yet!

Here’s our mini guide to the best of the new openings and pop ups this summer…

Pergola on the Roof

West London’s newest rooftop bar and restaurant set 170 feet high under a canopy of flowers. Designed as a vision of the Mediterranean, Pergola on the Roof will be a sunny European escapism with a roof top eatery including Rabbit, Salt Yard, Patty & Bun and Lecoq. This is sure to be the rooftop hangout of 2016.

Talli Joe

A brand new Indian half plates and cocktail restaurant has opened. It takes you on a journey and explores India’s regions allowing you to taste the unusual but exotic flavours that India has to offer. With Executive Chef Sameer Taneja (formerly of the Michelin-starred Benares) heading up the kitchen, the food comes served in share-sized portions best enjoyed with an Indian-style cocktail (and they’re so good!).

The Frog

Adam Handling’s The Frog in Shoreditch has such a relaxed atmosphere where the food really excites the eye. Adam’s distinctive style of cooking is technically savvy with the use of excellent produce and a little theatrical flair. The drinks are great too, you can sip on craft beer from selected micro-breweries, new age wine from young winemakers and curated cocktails.

Cutter & Squidge

The cutest afternoon tea pop up you’ll ever eat at the Hello Kitty Cafe at Cutter & Squidge. Grab a seat in the Hello Kitty Garden within the streets of Soho and enjoy delights such as Mama’s apple pie mousse, Mimmy’s pink lemonade marshmallow and Kitty’s snacktime sandwiches. Finishes on August 31st.

Heist Bank

The sister restaurant to the brilliant Coin Laundry. Heist Bank combines the love for traditional wood-fire baked Pizza’s, craft beers and a flowers. Opening up in Paddington with views of the canal this is the perfect all day hang out.

Magnum’s Pleasure Pop Up

Magnum’s pleasure store is back this summer, in a new location of Bond Street, where you can create your own Magnum creation. Double dip your ice cream in chocolate and cover with amazing topping of your choice, they even have their new peanut butter flavour! We can’t wait to make our own!

Night Tales

Night Tales is back after 2 successful years, with a bit of a make over and new home in Hackney Wick. The space will feature a sun terrace, new concept bars with retrospective elements and a raised sun deck with private sun-drenched booths where you can enjoy new cocktail creations and our favourites from past events. There will be a traditional British diner courtesy of Nanny Bill’s and some of the countries most respected DJ’s will be playing nightly.

Vogue Cafe Pop Up

To celebrate British Vogue’s 100th birthday, Vogue will be opening a pop up cafe at Westfield’s White City. The redesigned space will showcase a range of legendary Vogue covers from the last century and will be serving a specially created Vogue 100 Champagne Cocktail, Vogue 100 Punch and traditional afternoon tea.

Ahi Poke

LA-inspired Ahi Poké is heading to Fitzrovia with make-your-own poke bowls and more. In addition to the Hawaiian fish dish, the restaurant will also feature homemade iced teas, specialist non-alcoholic beverages imported from America and a soft serve machine to satisfy desert cravings.

Foley’s

After a successful 6 week pop up they have now found a permanent home in Fitzrovia. Serving a diverse range of modern world dishes inspired by the spice trail. It’s all brought together by their Head Chef Mitz Vora who joined them from his position as Sous Chef at The Palomar.  We’re excited!
